The Citadel names Jim Senter Director of Athletics

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The President of The Citadel, Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa, announced today that Jim Senter will be the college’s 12th Director of Athletics. He currently serves as a senior associate athletic director at the University of Colorado. He will join The Military College of South Carolina in time for the Bulldogs’ firstfootball game on Aug. 30.

“We are excited to have a leader of Jim’s caliber joining The Citadel team,” Rosa said. “He clearly demonstrates values that align with our mission to develop principled leaders on and off the field while striving for academic excellence.”

The Citadel athletic department sponsors 14 sports on the NCAA Division I level – eight men’s and six women’s – and competes in the Football Championship Subdivision. The Citadel has been a member of the Southern Conference since 1936 and is one of only two schools to be in the league in its modern history beginning in 1953.

The Citadel will hold an introductory press conference with Senter at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Altman Center at Johnson Hagood Stadium. Please RSVP to Pat Lee at 843-953-6779.
