Aicko Schumann, Ph.D.

Dr. Schumann's research is in "Nonlinear Dynamics" and the "Physics of Complex Systems" which used to be called "Physics of High-Dimensional Chaotic Systems" and now is often referred to simply as "Complexity Science". The beauty of Complex Systems is that they are present everywhere and Dr. Schumann has worked on very different topics spanning from weather prediction, (paleo-)climatology, space physics, biological systems, LIDAR applications in atmospheric science, human physiology and medicine, finance, geophysics and earthquake models, extreme value statistics (science of disasters), medical physics, social science, and neuroscience to (now) psychiatry and psychopharmacology.
