One to be remembered: Parents' Weekend 2014 at The Citadel
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Hundreds of parents, relatives, family and friends from across the country will be coming to Charleston October 10 – 12 for The Citadel’s 2014 Parents Weekend.
They will get to visit with cadets, faculty and staff. Parents and visitors will observe numerous military ceremonies, as well as academic and athletic events, comprising a weekend packed with opportunities to see their favorite cadet on the historic campus.
It is this weekend when most knobs (freshmen or Fourth Class cadets) will be seeing their parents for the first time since beginning their intensive training in August. With their parents present, the Fourth Class cadets will be promoted from Recruit to Private and officially integrated into the South Carolina Corps of Cadets. One of the most important traditions families will witness will include the Ring Ceremony for members of The Class of 2015 – which is when they will receive their hard-earned and highly-coveted Citadel rings.
“It’s the best weekend of the year and also the best way for our families to really understand the culture of the Corps and the commitment The Citadel has to developing us into principled leaders who will graduate and positively impact our communities, and our country,” said Logan Hester, Regimental Public Affairs Officer and Engineering major.

Do not park in Hampton Park next to campus during Parents Weekend or you may receive a ticket or get towed/booted by city authorities.
