Stanley L. Myers
Corps Grad ’98
Stanley L. Myers graduated from The Citadel in 1998, where he received his bachelor’s degree in political science and currently serves as a member of The Citadel Board of Visitors. Originally from Swansea, South Carolina, Myers went on to receive his J.D. from the David A. Clark School of Law at the University of District of Columbia in 2003.
Myers is a partner with the Moore Taylor Law Firm in West Columbia, South Carolina. His areas of practice include criminal defense, personal injury and workers’ compensation. He is also the founder of the Swansea Mentoring Program for youth in his hometown. He is married to Tashia Myers and they have two children, Stanley Lamont (L.J.), Jr. and Hayley Elizabeth.
What are your top three career achievements to date?
In 2008, I was named The American Bar of Trial Attorney’s Young Lawyer of the Year. In addition, I am a partner at Moore Taylor Law Firm, P.A. I also deployed as Captain with the 218th Infantry Brigade to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
What are your top three personal achievements to date?
I am a member of the National Guard, and I have received multiple promotions during my time in the South Carolina Army. I am currently a major and serve as the Staff Judge Advocate (SJA) for the 59th Troop Command at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. I am also happily married to Tashia and together, we have two children, L.J. and Hayley.
How did attending The Citadel help position you for success?
The Citadel provided me with a great education. The military and academic-focused environment prepared me to face adversity. Additionally, it provided me with a great network of like-minded individuals who have played a tremendous role in my success.
