Keith Plemmons, PE (Ret), PhD, PMP

Associate Professor
Joined The Citadel Faculty: August 2002

Keith Plemmons is an education professional and project management consultant with 20 years of engineering and construction experience and 14 years in higher education experience. Keith has taught civil engineering undergraduate and project management graduate courses, while consulting with industry and pursuing research. Currently, his area of interest and research is project management in the internet of things (loT). 

Keith was instrumental in advancing the project managment degree program at The Citadel, developing eight (8) project management graduate courses under the School of Engineering and teaching five (5) of them. More recently, Keith developed a hybrid (classroom and online) graduate course for the University of South Carolina's Engineering Management degree program, teaching this course for the past three summers. As a project management consultant, Keith provides individualized services to improve team and project performance.

A graduate of The Citadel in Civil Engineering, Keith earned his Master and Doctorate in Civil Engineering from Clemson University, with post Doctorate work at the University of Kentucky. Keith is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of South Carolina and Project Management Professional (PMP) as certified by Project Management Institute. In addition, Keith is a Certified Scrum Master (SCM) and a FEMA Certified Emergency Manager (CEM).
