Brittany Guthrie is the undergraduate program coordinator and academic advisor at the Baker School of Business. With a rich academic background, Ms. Guthrie earned an Associate of Science in General Education from Calhoun College, a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English and Secondary Education from the College of Charleston and has pursued further education with a Graduate Certificate in Student Affairs and a Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership from The Citadel. She earned a Six Sigma Green Belt and leverages its principles to enhance operational efficiency and streamline academic processes within the School of Business, reflecting her proactive approach towards continual improvement.
Before joining The Citadel, Ms. Guthrie garnered invaluable experience teaching high school English for the Charleston County School District. Her journey in higher education administration includes pivotal roles in advising, financial aid, and registrar offices across esteemed institutions like Calhoun College, the College of Charleston, and The Citadel.
Ms. Guthrie serves on various committees, including the Curriculum Committee and the Student Affairs Committee, and has previously served on both The Citadel’s Staff Council and the CGC Student Government Association. She is a member of the Southern Association for College Student Affairs, the National Academic Advising Association, and Chi Sigma Alpha.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. Guthrie finds joy in exploring the world through travel, indulging her adventurous spirit through kayaking, honing culinary skills in the kitchen, and cherishing moments with her beloved dog, Maverick, and cat, Goose.
