Dr. Paul Nolan

Dr. Paul Nolan is a Professor of Animal Behavior, and Coordinator for the Department of Biology’s graduate programs: the MA in Biology, the Accelerated MA in Biology (offered to undergraduates at The Citadel), and the Certificate in Environmental Sciences. His research interests are in sexual selection, specifically in the signals and signal content involved in mate choice. While much of his work has focused on birds, particularly house finches and two species of penguins, he is equally interested in behavior of invertebrates. For example, a project currently underway focuses on fiddler crabs and another will examine ant biology.Dr. Paul Nolan is a Professor of Animal Behavior, and Coordinator for the Department of Biology’s graduate programs: the MA in Biology, the Accelerated MA in Biology (offered to undergraduates at The Citadel), and the Certificate in Environmental Sciences.
