Undergraduate students’ academic classification is based strictly on earned credit hours. The table below reflects the required number of earned credit hours for each designated academic classification.

Academic classification is used by the Office of Financial Aid to determine loan eligibility.
Academic classification is used by the Office of Financial Aid to determine loan eligibility and by the Commandant’s Office to determine room assignments, the appropriate class numeral, class privileges, and the eligibility to hold cadet rank.
- Cadets are considered for privileges based on their Academic Classifications.
- To be eligible to receive class privileges, a cadet must not be on Academic Probation and must be both conduct and physically proficient.
