Commencement 2007 - Media

Media is welcome to cover commencement exercises at The Citadel. The Public Affairs Office stands ready to help you.

The South Carolina Corps of Cadets commencement is at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 5. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani will deliver the graduation speech. Due to the high profile of this year's speaker all media will be required to register in advance.

Designated press areas for print and television will be established. Field house floor plan.

The print press room will be equipped with a wireless connection and remote broadcast of the commencement exercises and graduation speech. A pool camera will be instituted for up close shots of the speaker. Media platforms, where all recording equipment will be, are approximately 123 feet from the stage. Photographers and videographers should bring appropriate lenses. Media will not be permitted to move around during commencement.

The College of Graduate and Professional Studies, the evening undergraduate and graduate program, will hold commencement at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6. Bobby Harrell, speaker of the South Carolina House of Representatives, will deliver the commencement address.

No special arrangements are needed for media interested in covering the CGPS commencement on May 6. Please call Public Affairs if you plan to attend so parking and equipment arrangements can be made for you.
