{"id":110,"date":"2022-09-19T14:19:34","date_gmt":"2022-09-19T18:19:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/registrar\/?page_id=110"},"modified":"2023-10-16T11:00:46","modified_gmt":"2023-10-16T15:00:46","slug":"military-coursework-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/registrar\/transfer-credit-information\/military-coursework-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Military Coursework Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Academic Credit for Veterans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Citadel proudly offers veterans the opportunity to complete or advance their education in an environment that understands and appreciates military service.&nbsp; Academic credit for training and coursework completed during your military service may apply towards your degree requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-policy\">Policy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Citadel will follow the American Council of Education (ACE) Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Official transcripts received from Joint Services Transcripts, Community College of the Air Force, and Air University will be evaluated for lower-level and upper-level credit for military training and coursework.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Repeated\/duplicated military training and coursework will not be posted.&nbsp; The determination of repeat\/duplicate credit will be based on the ACE guide number for the course.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transfer credit from military coursework is evaluated by the Registrar&#8217;s Office for undergraduate programs only.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Graduate Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Graduate students should contact their academic advisor regarding graduate-level credit. If approved,&nbsp; graduate students will need to complete the graduate <a href=\"https:\/\/nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.citadel.edu%2Froot%2Fimages%2Fregistrar%2Fgraduate%2Ftransfer%2520credit%2520approval%2520-%2520graduate.pdf&amp;data=02%7C01%7Clhall1%40citadel.edu%7C2930d94fce33492b317e08d854c99c44%7C960c1081d06341f8844b41d738db04a3%7C0%7C0%7C637352572182366857&amp;sdata=cmLM1W5Byg8%2BE%2BIKfpE%2FMsvON%2BLKQ09%2BO570w%2FkcJGQ%3D&amp;reserved=0\">Transfer Credit Approval form<\/a>. &nbsp;Students should make sure their<strong> official<\/strong> transcripts have been received by The Citadel prior to completing the form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If utilizing a &nbsp;Joint Service transcript students must submit a copy of their Joint Service Transcript and the American Council of Education (ACE) evaluation of the course work to the Department.&nbsp; Only \u201cG\u201d graduate level courses that have been evaluated by the ACE may be considered for transfer credit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students should also review the <a href=\"https:\/\/nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.citadel.edu%2Froot%2Fregistrar-approved-college-transfer-credits%2Fregistrar-transfer-policy&amp;data=02%7C01%7Clhall1%40citadel.edu%7C2930d94fce33492b317e08d854c99c44%7C960c1081d06341f8844b41d738db04a3%7C0%7C0%7C637352572182376851&amp;sdata=gRVCwnva%2BYGS6zEK0R82CIFHQQTKzpjSSda4dEfRY9U%3D&amp;reserved=0\">Transfer Credit Policy<\/a> and\/or their academic catalog for full details.
