The Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences and The Citadel Department of Defense Cyber Institute hosted several camps over the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Citadel Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences hosted two GenCyber Camps<\/a> in June, an all-girls and an all-boys session, funded by the National Security Agency GenCyber program. The weeklong study in cyber included lessons in networking security, secure coding, cryptography and cyber ethics.  The Citadel introduced the first GenCyber Camp to South Carolina in 2016.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Twenty-seven service men and women from the National Guard, South Carolina State Guard and the Navy attended the SCARNG Cyber Bootcamp in person. The camp was fully funded by The Citadel Department of Defense Cyber Institute and included two instructors who conducted in-person and virtual training for SEC+ and NET+ certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Citadel Department of Defense Cyber Institute partnered with the Computer Science Teachers Association to offer a K-12 Teachers Camp in July. Approximately 30 teachers from South Carolina middle and high schools learned about cybersecurity and the fundamentals of cyber. Instructors from the Regions Investing in the Next Generation program provided onsite instruction and hands-on learning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
