Mathematics Major Recruited to Space Force<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Senior mathematics major Cadet Sadie Gomez will be joining the Space Force when she graduates in May. Gomez, a member of the volleyball team, is pursuing research on prime numbers. She began working on her research project, Prime Progression<\/em>, as a sophomore and received the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience grant during the summer of 2022. She has presented her research at Academic Excellence Day and plans to publish an article on her research before graduation. Gomez spent nearly a month last summer at both Maxwell Air Force in Montgomery, Alabama, and Patrick Space Force in Brevard County, Florida, learning and training with the Space Force. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to take what I learned at The Citadel and combine that with the values of the Air Force,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s an opportunity to create a whole new culture and make the new branch of the military our own.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
