October Faculty Spotlight<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Myungwoo Lee<\/strong> is a native of South Korea who teaches sport management with a focus on social responsibility. Lee is exploring the impact of climate change\u2013induced disruptions to sporting events on fan stress and pro-environmental behavioral intentions. \u201cI am passionate about contributing to socially responsible and sustainable practices in the sports industry through both research and teaching,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before beginning his teaching career, Lee served in the South Korean Air Force, where he worked alongside members of the U.S. Air Force. After separating from the military, he earned a Ph.D. from the University of Houston. \u201cI love sharing ideas with students and value the opportunity to learn from their diverse perspectives,\u201d he said. \u201cI prioritize student engagement by encouraging active participation, using strategies such as targeted questioning and real-world case studies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lee and his wife are the proud parents of a 5-month-old daughter. He enjoys playing tennis and golf and spending time with his family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Michaela Schuler<\/strong>, an assistant professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, joins The Citadel from Barnegat, New Jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Citadel\u2019s emphasis on teaching and development drew Schuler to Charleston. \u201cI am especially excited to work with other civil engineering faculty members,\u201d she said, \u201cto grow and enhance our construction engineering curriculum.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A newlywed, Schuler and her husband recently relocated to Charleston, where she has family. \u201cMy husband and I are looking forward to settling in and watching our nieces and nephews grow up nearby,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
