Another Big Win for STEM Education<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Citadel has been awarded a second National Science Foundation grant totaling $1.87 million as part of a $2.5 million project to advance STEM teaching and learning. The project is being led by STEM Director Jennifer Albert, Ph.D., and Professor of Computer Science Deepti Joshi, Ph.D.\u2014who recently secured a $1.6 million Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program grant<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Citadel will lead the project in collaboration with the University of Texas at Arlington, the University of Kentucky, Radford University and the College of Charleston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The four-year project will examine effective models for teacher professional development in response to the 2018 National Science and Technology Council report Charting a Course for Success: America\u2019s Strategy for STEM Education, which calls for preparing students with both STEM literacy and technical competencies to become informed citizens and contributors to society. The initiative will integrate artificial intelligence and cybersecurity into a unified curriculum, and 25 teacher leaders will be recruited this fall to participate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
