{"id":83,"date":"2022-06-01T14:28:37","date_gmt":"2022-06-01T18:28:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/political-science\/?page_id=83"},"modified":"2026-03-03T12:37:32","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T17:37:32","slug":"symposium-on-southern-politics","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/political-science\/symposium-on-southern-politics\/","title":{"rendered":"Symposium on Southern Politics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Department of Political Science hosts The Citadel Symposium on Southern Politics, the largest and most comprehensive conference for the presentation and discussion of scholarly research on the contemporary politics of a specific region in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Symposium has been held biennially, in even-numbered years, on the campus of The Citadel since 1978. The 2026&nbsp;Symposium will be held on The Citadel campus on Thursday and Friday, 5-6 March 2026. We hope to see you in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration is now open! Please visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/commerce.cashnet.com\/CSSP\">registration page<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone interested in participating in the Symposium is invited to submit a title and an abstract (hypotheses or explanation of research, methodology, and significance) of a paper he or she proposes to present at one of the Symposium panels.
