Dr. Joshua Hostetter
Assistant Professor
Dr. Joshua D. Hostetter joined the Political Science Department at The Citadel in the Fall of 2021. He was previously the Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of South Florida – Saint Petersburg. His research and teaching focus on American elections, voting behavior, political psychology, experimental research methods, and Southern politics. Dr. Hostetter has published his research in peer-reviewed journals such as Social Science Quarterly and Election Law Journal. Dr. Hostetter’s current research agenda focuses on poll worker recruitment and how election laws influence voting behavior. He is the co-director of The Citadel Symposium on Southern Politics.
