This page will get updated as we get closer to the weekend, but the information provided now will be enough to make your plans. Everyone is welcome. Please take your time to read through this page and the three accompanying pages. Consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/citadel.campusesp.com\/users\/sign_in\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Parent and Family Portal<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1437822863145477\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1437822863145477\">The Citadel Family Association Facebook<\/a> <\/strong>page for updates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/today.citadel.edu\/crystal-clear-citadel-implements-new-bag-policy-for-athletic-events\/#targetText=Under%20the%20policy%2C%20fans%20will,as%20Ziploc%20or%20Hefty%20bags).\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><em>Don\u2019t forget about the Clear Bag Policy<\/em><\/strong><\/a><strong><em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><em>Although the article only refers to Athletics, it also applies to the Ring Walkthrough Ceremony on Friday night.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s start with a look at the&nbsp;<strong><em>General Leave Schedule<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;for the weekend then a summary of each day\u2019s events. At the end of each page, you can click on a specific day to get a more detailed description of the events and our recommendations. If you have a hard time with Military Time or just want to double-check,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.calculatorsoup.com\/calculators\/time\/military-time-converter.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>click here for a converter website<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-general-leave-summary\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">General Leave Summary<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Action Item for Parents and Families:<\/strong> <\/em><br><em>As we get closer make sure you verify the times with your cadet<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Friday<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All cadets may leave after their last military duty \u2013 which for most is their last class. Classes end 1250.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Typical leave for Friday night:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Seniors: overnight<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Juniors and Sophomores: must be back by 0100<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Freshmen:&nbsp;must be back by Midnight<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Saturday Night<\/strong>*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">General Leave begins after the football game and expires:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Upperclassmen: must be back by 0100<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Freshman: must be back by midnight<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*<em>Note: The times above may be modified by the President at the football game based on the recommendation of the Commandant and the Regimental Commander. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sunday<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can pick up your cadets as early as 0530<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Seniors: must be back by 2230<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen: Must be back by 1950<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-additional-information\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Additional Information<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Weather:<\/strong>&nbsp;Charleston weather can be unpredictable, but historically the temperature average is in the mid 80s. Please remember to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, bug spray and&nbsp;hydrate before arriving. You may want to consider bringing a hat for shade, or better yet, check out the Citadel bookstore for the latest in Citadel headgear!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Shoes:&nbsp;<\/strong>Keep in mind there will be a lot of walking, so make sure you wear some comfortable shoes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Map:<\/strong>\u00a0You can find the map of campus by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/visit-the-citadel\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/138\/2026\/08\/The-Citadel-Core-Campus-Map-2026-v8.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CLICKING HERE<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Traffic:<\/strong>&nbsp;Traffic in Charleston is unpredictable, especially at rush-hour. Please plan accordingly, especially for the Friday night \u201cWalk-through\u201d Ring Ceremony.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Parking:<\/strong>&nbsp;Campus parking is a challenge; we do not have the room to fit all the cars coming onto campus at high traffic times. If you think you\u2019ll fare better by coming after traffic dies down, you may find yourself parking off campus and being late for events. In the past, Public Safety has closed the gates to oncoming traffic by 0900. Consider a ride share like Uber or Lyft.
