After eight years of active duty service in the Air Force, she continues to serve as a chief nurse for her unit in the Air Force Reserve. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Duke University, a Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the United States Air Force Academy.
