She earned her Ph.D. in Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Cultures from The Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY). Before joining The Citadel, she taught at William &amp; Mary and the Universidad Central de Venezuela.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her research focuses on contemporary Latin American literature and visual culture, particularly the intersections of politics, embodiment, cultural memory, and national identity. She is currently completing a book manuscript, <em>Cuerpos en disputa: Obras de la Revoluci\u00f3n Bolivariana<\/em>, which examines literary and artistic representations of the body during the Ch\u00e1vez era.
