Spanish and French<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Kyrie Miranda-Farnell is an Assistant Professor of French and Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at The Citadel in Charleston, SC. She spent her youth in the Pacific Northwest, studying a variety of modern languages before she moved to New Orleans in early adulthood. There, she earned two BAs (Spanish and French) and two MAs (Romance Languages, with concentrations in Spanish and French) at the University of New Orleans. In 2020 she defended her dissertation, Encounters with Animals in the New World<\/em>, earning her PhD in Hispanic Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her research interests are French and Spanish literature from the 11th<\/sup>-16th<\/sup> centuries, with a focus on animal imagery and representation, and ecocriticism. She currently resides in Hanahan, SC with her husband and three children.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
