He has been a visiting Mathematics professor at\u00a0Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, and\u00a0the University of Hawaii at M\u0101noa, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was an Assistant and Associate Professor at\u00a0Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His teaching expertise ranges from College Algebra,\u00a0Pre-calculus, Trigonometry, and Calculus to Applied Engineering Math and Differential equations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He received the Chancellor\u2019s Award for Excellence in Teaching from Texas A&amp;M University System for doing an excellent job in 2011. In addition, Dr. Lyons has received several research awards, including travel grants that have taken him to Florida Gulf Coast University, Ft Myers, FL, UNC-Greensboro, Greensboro, NC, Mississippi State University, Starkville, MS, and the 10th\u00a0AIMS Conference, Madrid, Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of his publications include\u00a0\u201cAn Application of the Layered\u00a0Compression-Expansion Fixed Point Theorem to a Fractional Boundary\u00a0Value Problem\u201d (2019) in the\u00a0Panamerican Mathematical Journal\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cTwo Point Fractional Boundary Value Problems with a Fractional Boundary\u00a0Condition\u201d (2018) in the\u00a0Fractional Calculus and Applied Analysis.
