Mr. Hank Askins has spent over three decades in combined military and Federal Service and has had numerous positions in the Government procurement field. He has supported Federal clients primarily in the southeast, specifically Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. He has extensive experience in acquisition planning, government procurement, fiscal law, source selection, protests, contract administration, claims resolution, contract litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). He previously served as Litigation Counsel for the Department of Veterans Affairs where he was responsible for representing the Agency before the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the Civilian Board of Contract Appeals (CBCA), and he supported the Department of Justice (DOJ) when DOJ advocated on behalf of his Agency\u2019s clients. He currently serves as an Associate Counsel for the Department of the Navy where he supports procurement actions for the Naval Information Warfare Command (NIWC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
COL(R) Askins was commissioned in the Army as an Artillery Officer following his graduation from the United States Military Academy. His initial assignment was with the 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment (AFAR), 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. Following assignments to Germany and Fort McPherson, GA, COL(R) Askins transitioned to the Army Reserve where he mobilized with the United States Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) in support of Operations Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom. During his time in the Army Reserve, COL(R) Askins commanded the 1188th Deployment and Distribution Support Battalion (DDSB), the 3\/485th OSUT Battalion, the USARC Augmentation Unit (UAU) and the 1189th Transportation Support Brigade (TSB). He has also served in a variety of staff positions in both the active and reserve components. His awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Serve Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal. He is a graduate of the Army War College, Airborne School, Air Assault School and the Army Ranger School. COL(R) Askins retired from the United States Army Reserve as a Colonel after 30 years of service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
