Forrest is the Assistant Dean of Assessment, the Alvah H. Chapman, Jr. Chair in Management & Ethics, and Professor of Practice at The Citadel\u2019s Baker School of Business (BSB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As Assistant Dean, Forrest directs the Assessment and Assurance of Learning (AoL) activities for the Baker School of Business\u2019 AACSB and SACSCOC accreditation, both graduate and undergraduate programs. He is the Director of the Baker School of Business Coaching (Mentoring) Program. Previously, Forrest was the Faculty Leader for the BSB Senior Leadership Day for Management and Marketing majors. He chairs both the AoL Committee and the Baker Coaching Committee, is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee, and ex officio member of the Curriculum Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As Chapman Chair in Management & Ethics and Professor of Practice, Forrest\u2019s instruction focuses on Applied Business Analytics, a core requirement for all Baker School of Business undergraduates at The Citadel. He is also the Finance instructor for Risk Management & Derivatives. Previously, his specialty was Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Business Ethics. Forrest brings a practitioner\u2019s perspective into the classroom, connecting research and theory to real-world events and policies, equipping students with the tools to make a thoughtful, analytical assessment of both quantitative & qualitative factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With more than twenty-five years of experience as a professional research analyst, portfolio manager, and chief investment officer, Forrest brings insights and tangible skills acquired at some of the most prominent and highly regarded global investment management firms in the industry. Additionally, he has studied finance, political economy, and decision sciences from some of the leading luminaries in academia, business, and government. Currently, Forrest is pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Risk and Decision Analytics in the Department of Economics, Finance, and Quantitative Analysis at Kennesaw State University\u2019s (R2) Coles College of Business (AACSB), a traditional research-focused residence-based PhD program. His research interests focus on applying the interdisciplinary nature of decision sciences (particularly machine learning and behavioral science) to finance-related areas of empirical asset pricing, alternative investments, and mergers & acquisitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Forrest earned a Master of Public Administration degree from Harvard University\u2019s Kennedy School of Government, concentrating in Decision Sciences and Political Economy. Additionally, he holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia University\u2019s Graduate School of Business, with a concentration in Finance and Accounting. His undergraduate studies were at Vanderbilt University\u2019s School of Engineering, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Science with a concentration in Management of Technology. He has been a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) for more than twenty-five years. In addition to being an entrepreneur & small-business owner\/investor, Forrest has held senior leadership and governance positions in both the public service and non-profit sectors, serving as a publicly elected town official and a non-profit board member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
