{"id":66,"date":"2022-05-23T14:21:08","date_gmt":"2022-05-23T18:21:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/leadership-studies\/?page_id=66"},"modified":"2023-10-23T15:50:04","modified_gmt":"2023-10-23T19:50:04","slug":"policies","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/leadership-studies\/policies\/","title":{"rendered":"Policies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-academic-standards\">Academic Standards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All students are expected to maintain high academic standards while in the Leadership Studies graduate program. Any student who&nbsp;earns an &#8220;F&#8221; or more than&nbsp;two &#8220;C&#8217;s&#8221; (including C+) will be dismissed from the Leadership Studies Graduate program for academic insufficiency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: An incomplete &#8220;I&#8221; is converted to an &#8220;F&#8221; if the work is not completed within the guidelines established by the college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Academic Integrity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Absolute integrity is expected of every Citadel student in academic undertakings. Academic integrity is grounded on the concept of honesty with respect to the intellectual efforts of oneself and others.&nbsp; A student\u2019s submission of work for academic credit indicates that the work is the student\u2019s own. Students are responsible for knowing what constitutes violations of the Academic Integrity Policy. Examples of violations of the Academic Integrity policy include, but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Plagiarizing or representing the words, ideas, or information of another person as one\u2019s own without documentation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Giving or receiving prior to an examination any unauthorized information concerning the content of that examination;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Using, without authorization of the instructor, notes, books, prompts, or other materials, or receiving verbal or electronic assistance to aid in answering questions on an examination;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Giving or receiving substantive aid during the course of an examination;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Asking or permitting another person to take a test or engage in other academic work; or taking a test or engaging in academic work for another, whether voluntarily or for hire, in conjunction with class work or for admissions purposes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Violating personal property rights (for example, stealing or attempting to steal tests, keys, or grade books);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Fabricating data in support of laboratory or field work;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Engaging in other acts of academic misconduct.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information and details on our academic policy, please refer to our current <a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.citadel.edu\/\">academic catalog<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-appeals-policy\">Appeals Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who believe that there are circumstances surrounding their academic status which make a dismissal action unfair or inappropriate may appeal that action to the Department of Leadership Studies. All appeals should be made in writing and addressed to the Department Head of Leadership Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-transfer-credit-policy\">Transfer Credit Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MS Leadership Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A maximum of six graduate credit hours from an accredited institution may be approved for transfer credit,&nbsp;provided: (1) that those courses are determined to be equivalent to one of the advanced or elective courses at The Citadel, (2) that grades of \u201cB\u201d or better were received in the courses, and (3) that credit for the courses was earned within the five years prior to admission into The Citadel MS Leadership program. The capstone course, LDRS 715, may not be approved for transfer credit. Transfer credit must be approved by the Department Head of Leadership Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Leadership Certificate Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A maximum of three graduate credit hours from an accredited institution may be approved for transfer credit,&nbsp;provided: (1) that those courses are determined to be equivalent to one of the advanced or elective courses at The Citadel, (2) that grades of \u201cB\u201d or better were received in the courses, and (3) that credit for the courses was earned within the five years prior to admission into The Citadel Graduate Leadership Certificate programs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transfer Credit Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To request transfer credit for graduate coursework, please submit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.citadel.edu\/root\/images\/Leadership_Studies\/transfer_credit_approval_-_graduate.pdf\">Transfer Credit Approval&nbsp;<\/a>Form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Corresponding syllabi and course descriptions for the courses taken<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transcript: Students must have a transcript on file with the Registrar\u2019s office documenting the level and course grade for the requested courses.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>*Military Only*<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Military Course Work:&nbsp; Students must submit their Joint Service Transcript and the American Counsel of Education (ACE) evaluation of the course work to the Department.&nbsp; Only \u201cG\u201d graduate level courses that have been evaluated by the ACE may be considered for transfer credit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Academic Standards All students are expected to maintain high academic standards while in the Leadership Studies graduate program.
