{"id":29,"date":"2026-08-13T13:32:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T17:32:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/krause-center\/?page_id=29"},"modified":"2026-09-03T15:23:57","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T19:23:57","slug":"distinguished-service-leadership-and-ethics-award","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/krause-center\/distinguished-service-leadership-and-ethics-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Krause Center Award for Distinguished Service, Leadership, and Ethics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 id=\"h-the-krause-center-award\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Krause Center Award<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each year, the <em><strong>Krause Center Award for Distinguished Service, Leadership, and Ethics<\/strong><\/em> showcases a Citadel graduate as a living example of a Principled Leader.&nbsp;The award has been presented annually since 2011 (except for 2021) to Citadel graduates whose&nbsp;lives&nbsp;and actions exemplify the highest ideals of distinguished service, leadership, and ethics through personal integrity and service to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be considered for selection, nominees must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Exhibit The Citadel\u2019s Core Values of Honor, Duty, State, and Country in both professional and private life<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Embody the values and ethical character of a Principled Leader<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exemplify service before self in actions and deeds for The Citadel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serve as a role model in both professional and personal endeavors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-past-recipients\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Past Recipients<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2025 \u2014 Lieutenant General John W.
