Maymester and Summer School hours are more limited. The Infirmary will be closed with limited access to voicemail and email during all furlough times or when cadets are not on campus.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Virtual Urgent Care<\/strong>: Accessible 24\/7 from your phone via the online <a href=\"https:\/\/campaigns.muschealth.org\/virtual-care\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">portal.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Counseling Services:<\/strong> Available 0700- 1500, Monday- Friday, with some later afternoon appointments available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sick Call and In-Person Provider Visits (Physician and Nurse Practitioner):<\/strong> Available 0630- 1345,&nbsp;Monday- Friday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nurses: <\/strong>Available 24\/7 (please ring the bell after hours when doors are locked if you need to be seen.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Medications: <\/strong>Delivered at 1700 Monday &#8211; Friday. Pick-up is any time after delivery. (if prescriptions are not picked up in 48 hours, they will be returned to pharmacy).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Allergy Shots:<\/strong> Available Monday- Friday during provider hours<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>X-Rays: <\/strong>Available 0700- 1000, Monday- Friday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Electrocardiograms (EKG):<\/strong> Available 24\/7 at Infirmary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Infirmary&#8217;s Administrative Office: <\/strong>Available 0830- 1630, Monday- Friday<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-services\">Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Information on health insurance requirements and services covered can be found on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/infirmary\/health-insurance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Health Insurance<\/a>&nbsp;page.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Infirmary&#8217;s Administrative Office: <\/strong>The Citadel Infirmary\u2019s Administration office (0830-1630 M-F) is available to assist all students with any questions regarding the medical standards for admission, medical forms, insurance information, and scheduling MUSC appointments. Please email inquiries to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:Citadel@musc.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">citadel@musc.edu<\/a>. You may also leave a voicemail message or speak with a staff nurse during the school year, who can answer most questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Virtual Urgent Care<\/strong>: Accessible 24\/7 from your phone via the online <a href=\"https:\/\/campaigns.muschealth.org\/virtual-care\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Counseling Services: <\/strong>Counseling for personal mental health concerns and psychiatry services for medication evaluations and monitoring are provided through MUSC Health and The Citadel. For currently enrolled Citadel undergraduate and graduate students who can attend \u201cin-person\u201d appointments at the clinic.&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/infirmary\/counseling-services\/\">Learn more. <\/a><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Medications<\/strong>: Whether ordered by the infirmary or an outside provider, medications can be sent to <a href=\"https:\/\/locations.muschealth.org\/sc\/charleston\/25-courtenay-drive-mezzanine-level\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MUSC Ashley River Tower (ART) Pharmacy<\/a> for courier delivery. Please note the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please have the provider indicate the patient is a Citadel cadet, or medications will not be delivered to the infirmary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Charges will be billed to insurance, and cadets are responsible for the remaining balance.<br>To make a payment, visit&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/muschealth.org\/patients-visitors\/billing\/payment-options\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/muschealth.org\/patients-visitors\/billing\/payment-options<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Medication pick-up is any time after 1700 M-F. If prescriptions are not picked up within 48 hours, they will be returned to the pharmacy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A state or government-issued ID is required to pick up controlled substances.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over-the-counter medications are available at the cadet store.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sick and In-person Provider Visits: <\/strong>with Physicians and Nurse Practitioners (0630- 1345 M-F), and Nurses (24\/7).<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Allergy Shots:<\/strong> Allergy serum is stored in a locked medication refrigerator; allergy shots are administered by a nurse, and cadets are monitored for allergic reactions following allergy injections. (M-F during provider hours). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Laboratory:<\/strong>&nbsp;Lab testing is available at the Infirmary. After specimens are collected, they are sent to the MUSC main lab for processing. The fee for a lab draw visit at the infirmary is covered; however, the testing of labs will be the cadet\u2019s responsibility after insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>X-Rays:<\/strong>\u00a0Extremity, chest, and abdominal films are available at the Infirmary.\u00a0(0700- 1000 M-F)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Electrocardiograms&nbsp;(EKGs):<\/strong> available 24\/7<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Inpatient (Daytime and Overnight) Admissions:<\/strong>\u00a0The Infirmary has 16 in-patient beds available for cadets who are ill, injured or recovering from surgery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transportation:<\/strong>&nbsp;In an emergency, the Infirmary will call an ambulance to transport a cadet to the hospital. Transportation for doctor\u2019s appointments and other routine matters can be obtained through POV, local taxis, or UBER at the cadet&#8217;s cost. There is a shuttle that goes from the Infirmary to downtown MUSC clinics on weekdays at no cost.
