The Home Run Derby is a Tier 4 event. The Company Regimental Champion is the batter who posts the highest score. The Home Run Derby is a one-day-only competition; no provision will be made for class conflict, Corps Squad practice, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The roster limit is one batter and one pitcher per company, and they must be from the same company. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Start time is forfeit time: there is no grace period for players to arrive late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All players who are not at bat\/at pitch will retrieve balls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pitchers throw a softball underhand. Batters are not required to swing at a pitch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A homerun for males is a ball that lands on or over the 225-foot boundary line. And for females, a homerun is one that lands on or over the 175-foot boundary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
An out is called when the batter swings and misses, or when a hit doesn’t clear the fence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each batter hits until they’ve taken 20 swings, recorded ten outs, or been at bat for five minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each batter is allowed one 30-second timeout. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Batters tied at the end of Round 1 will have no more than three minutes to hit again, taking no more than 10 swings and recording no more than five outs. There are no timeouts during tiebreakers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The top four scorers from Round 1 advance to Round 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Round 2 ties will be broken in the same way as those in Round 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
