{"id":54,"date":"2022-05-02T16:57:39","date_gmt":"2022-05-02T20:57:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/icra\/?page_id=54"},"modified":"2023-10-31T10:28:56","modified_gmt":"2023-10-31T14:28:56","slug":"faculty-and-staff","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/icra\/deas-hall\/faculty-and-staff\/","title":{"rendered":"Faculty and Staff"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-deas-hall-for-faculty-and-staff\">Deas Hall for Faculty and Staff<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-priority-use\">Priority Use<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The primary purpose of Deas Hall is to provide instructional support for students in the Department of Health and Human Performance (HHP), along with their college intramural, club, and recreational athletic activities. Deas Hall is also critical to the operations of the Office of the Commandant and ROTC units.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fee\">Fee<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no fee for current faculty, staff or dependents to use Deas Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-identification\">Identification<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty, staff, spouses, and dependents are expected to have a Citadel ID when using Deas Hall. Be prepared to show it to a staff member when entering the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-reminders-of-risk\">Reminders of Risk<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The priority activities of Deas Hall increase the risk of COVID-19 exposure to the casual user. Because activities in Deas Hall may involve heavy respiration and communal use of high-touch equipment in an indoor environment, faculty and staff are strongly urged to exercise outdoors when possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-children\">Children<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dependents under the age of 18&nbsp;<strong><em>must<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;be accompanied by a parent or guardian&nbsp;responsible for the conduct, safety, and activities of the minor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-guests\">Guests<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty, staff, their spouses, and their dependents may <strong><em>not<\/em><\/strong> bring guests into Deas Hall to use the exercise or recreational facilities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sports-fitness-equipment\">Sports &amp; Fitness Equipment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Deas Hall has a variety of equipment available for check-out. Present your Citadel ID card to the Equipment Room; your card will be returned when the equipment is returned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Bring your own:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Personal hand sanitizer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water bottle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shower towel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sweat towel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Swim goggles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Weight belt and lift straps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-environmental-hygiene\">Environmental Hygiene<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Before and after use, wipe down equipment in cardio, weight rooms, and mat rooms. Pick up trash in locker rooms and workout areas and use recycling bins for bottles and cans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use hand sanitizer or wash hands before, during, and after using equipment and spaces in Deas Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-etiquette\">Etiquette<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Respect others when using Deas Hall, and remember that classroom areas are quiet zones. Return dumbbells and weight plates to their racks after use. Ask others to do the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-locker-rooms-and-lockers\">Locker Rooms and Lockers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Deas Hall has locker rooms designated for male and female faculty\/staff. There is no fee to use a locker; however, lockers must be registered in the First Floor Equipment Room, and you must provide your lock. You may keep your locker from August through April; there is an annual locker clean-out in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be courteous to others and clean up after yourself.
