Dr. Chris Wright received his B.A. and M.A. in History from the University of Arkansas and spent a year of doctoral work at Indiana University’s Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures. He received his Ph.D. in Middle East History from the University of California Santa Barbara. His research interests include early to modern Middle East and Islamic History, Early Christianity, and Roman Late Antiquity. He is currently preparing his dissertation on the Islamic Conquest of Egypt for publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the History Department’s specialist in the Middle East, Dr. Wright offers general courses on Early Islamic History and Modern Middle East History, as well as more specialized courses on the Crusades, a History of Muslim-Christian relations, and the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
