Grenier<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-professor\">Professor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Katherine Grenier is a historian of modern Britain, with a specialization in nineteenth-century Scotland.&nbsp; She earned a B. A. at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.&nbsp; She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on modern British history, nineteenth-century Europe, and the history of tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grenier is the co-editor (with Amanda R. Mushal) of&nbsp;<em>Cultures of Memory in the Nineteenth Century. Consuming Commemoration<\/em>&nbsp;(Palgrave, 2020).&nbsp; She is the author of&nbsp;<em>Tourism and Identity in Scotland. Creating Caledonia&nbsp;<\/em>(Ashgate, 2005), a book which won Honorable Mention for the Frank Watson Book Prize for the best book in Scottish History published in 2005 and 2006 and was a finalist for the Saltire Society\u2019s Scottish History Book of the Year (2005).&nbsp; She is a former officer in the Southern Conference on British Studies and in the Nineteenth Century Studies Association, and is on the editorial board of the&nbsp;<em>Journal of Tourism History<\/em>.&nbsp; Her current research examines Sabbatarianism in nineteenth-century Scotland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Cultures-Memory-Nineteenth-Century-Commemoration-ebook\/dp\/B089XZDN8Q\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web.citadel.edu\/root\/images\/History_Dept\/grenier_mushal_2020_bkcover.jpg\" alt=\"grenier mushal 2020 bkcover\" width=\"303\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Cultures of Memory in the Nineteenth Century:&nbsp; Consuming Commemoration (2020)<\/em>, eds.
