However, unfolding on the waters surrounding the thirteen original British colonies and beyond was a larger story of the rise of America\u2019s first fleet. Though far weaker than its adversary, this naval force inspired a lasting dream of possessing sea power to protect the nation\u2019s freedom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On loan from the Navy Art Collection of the Naval History and Heritage Command, this exhibition celebrates the country\u2019s 250th birthday by highlighting the far-reaching impact of America\u2019s first naval forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This exhibit is made possible through the generous support of Leonardo DRS with additional support from Pinnacle Financial Partners and the Friends of Fine Arts at The Citadel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 10 \u2013 December 8, 2026 Winfred B.
