These events are all free with registration and open to the public. All events take place in Capers Hall on The Citadel campus at 6 pm with free parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TO REGISTER FOR ALL EVENTS:  <a href=\"https:\/\/storiesofwar.eventbrite.com\">https:\/\/storiesofwar.eventbrite.com<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14<\/strong>, <strong>2024<\/strong>: <strong>6-8 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Movements of the Military: Workshop with Exit12 Dance Company<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exit12\u2019s movement workshops for those connected to the military help to foster expression, connection, and healing through movement. These guided movement explorations investigate themes of identity, resilience, and life transitions. Partner and group exercises promote collaboration and trust-building, allowing participants to reflect and share their stories through movement. No experience in dance is needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15<\/strong>, <strong>2024<\/strong>: <strong>6-8 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Art of Healing: <em>After Action<\/em> Screening with Stacy Pearsall and Roman Baca<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hosted by veteran combat photojournalist Stacy Pearsall, <em>After Action<\/em> is a PBS series that reveals the experiences of veterans through candid conversations about what life is like before, during and after action. In the episode that will be screened at this event, Stacy interviewed Roman Baca, the Founding Director of Exit12 Dance Company, to explore how the arts can provide a form of expression for emotions that go beyond words. After the screening, Stacy and Roman will continue their conversation on stage together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16<\/strong>,<strong> 2024<\/strong>: <strong>6-8 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Stories of War<\/em> with Exit12 Dance Company<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exit12&#8217;s signature full-length evening performances weave together veteran storytelling with concert dance that takes the audience through the military experience, exploring war, humanity, homecoming, and family.&nbsp;Over the past year, Citadel cadets and veteran students in the Fine Arts program have engaged with Exit12 to determine the common ground between dance and the military, including discipline, athleticism, and teamwork. Then, they collaborated with Exit12 on a dance piece about the story of The Citadel, inspired by the distinct movements and sounds of cadet life, which will debut alongside Exit12&#8217;s signature repertoire exploring the military experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Stories of War at the Citadel<\/em> is funded in part by Creative Forces\u00ae: NEA Military Healing Arts Network, an initiative of the National Endowment in partnership with the U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs.
