These work programs are based on financial need, which is determined through FAFSA. Undergraduate and graduate students are able to apply for this type of employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-federal-work-study-program\">The Federal Work Study Program<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This federally funded program provides part-time employment for degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students. These students must demonstrate financial need. Students must complete a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.studentaid.gov\">FAFSA<\/a> to apply to a work study program. Contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/financial-aid\/contact-financial-aid-scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">financial aid office<\/a> to ensure your FAFSA is on file and that there aren&#8217;t issues. The financial aid office determines eligibility based on the student&#8217;s FAFSA. The office awards an earned amount. This is usually over two semesters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-many-hours-can-students-work-each-week\">How many hours can students work each week?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Cadets can work <strong>up to 10 hrs\/week<\/strong>, other undergraduate students (fifth year, veteran and evening students) can work <strong>up to 15 hrs\/week,<\/strong> and graduate students can work <strong>up to 20 hrs\/week<\/strong>. However, when not taking classes (i.e. fall and spring break and during the summer), undergraduate students may work up to <strong>20 hrs\/week<\/strong>&nbsp;and graduate students up to <strong>25<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>hrs\/week<\/strong>. Students must not work during class time, ESP, and any other training periods. Once hired, students report directly to their work supervisor.
