Our goal is to provide both recent graduates and professionals in the engineering community with a rigorous curriculum containing theoretical and practical engineering concepts for building additional expertise in a high-paced technological society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-admission-requirements\">Admission Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants will be admitted to the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) degree program on the basis of professional and scholastic achievement, along with their aptitude for graduate study. Other qualities appropriate to graduate study are also considered. Anyone holding a bachelor\u2019s degree from an ABET-accredited college or university is eligible for consideration. Other technical bachelor\u2019s degrees will be considered on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All material must be received by The Citadel Graduate College office on or before the following dates to assure consideration to the MSEE degree program during the applicable semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><thead><tr><th>Semester to begin<\/th><th>Admission material due<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Fall<\/td><td>July 20th<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Summer<\/td><td>April 15th<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Spring<\/td><td>December 1st<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For degree-seeking students:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completion of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/graduatecollege\/-apply\">online graduate application<\/a>&nbsp;along with the non-refundable application fee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submission of an official transcript of the baccalaureate degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program or approved alternative.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submission of two letters of recommendation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For non-degree-seeking professionals wanting to take graduate-level courses to fulfill professional practice requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completion of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/graduatecollege\/-apply\">online graduate application<\/a>&nbsp;along with the non-refundable application fee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submission of an official transcript of the baccalaureate degree, an ABET-accredited engineering program, or approved alternative.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Permission of department is required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-program-requirements\">Program Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Master of Science in Electrical Engineering is conferred upon those candidates who successfully complete an approved program of study consisting of at least 30 semester hours of graduate credit as delineated below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students are expected to complete all degree requirements within a six-year period from the time of registration in their first graduate course at The Citadel. Any transfer credit must have been earned within six years prior to admission into The Citadel MSEE program. Any prerequisites for applicable courses must be met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-graduation-requirements-course-requirements\">Graduation Requirements (Course Requirements)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All degree candidates must:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop a plan of study approved by the program director and academic advisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete any prerequisite undergraduate course as determined by the program director and academic advisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete a minimum of 18 hours of electrical and computer engineering graduate level courses.  Relevant courses from other majors may be approved on a case-by-case basis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete a minimum of 12 hours of technical or non-technical graduate level courses as approved by the program director and academic advisor. Elective courses can be selected from the following areas with approval of the program coordinator based on previous experience and educational goals: <em>BLAW, CIVL, CSCI, ELEC, GBUS, LDRS, MECH, MGMT, MKTG, and PMGT<\/em>.  Course descriptions can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/banprdssb01.citadel.edu\/PROD\/bwckschd.p_disp_dyn_sched\">here<\/a>. Other courses may be approved on a case-by-case basis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the non-credit bearing Citadel Principled Leadership Seminar<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transfer Credit:<\/strong>&nbsp;A maximum of two courses (6 credit hours) may be transferred in from a regionally accredited college or university, provided: (1) grades of \u201cB\u201d or better were received in the courses being considered, (2) credit was earned within six years prior to admission into The Citadel MSEE program, and (3) each course has been approved by the department head. A maximum of five courses (15 credit hours) may be transferred in from Clemson University, provided: (1) grades of \u201cB\u201d or better were received in the courses being considered, (2) credit was earned within six years prior to admission into The Citadel MSEE program, and (3) each course has been approved by the department head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Course Availability:<\/strong>&nbsp;Courses will be offered based on student preferences and overall demand. Students should be aware that course offerings will be based on minimum class size enrollment. The Electrical and Engineering Department will continually monitor student interest to expedite completion of your program of study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Transfer Credit from The Citadel:<\/strong>&nbsp;A maximum of 12 hours may be transferred from one Citadel graduate degree program where appropriate, provided that core degree requirements are met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Grading:<\/strong>&nbsp;All students are subject to the Academic Standards section under Policy Information of The Citadel Graduate College catalog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements for Graduation:<\/strong>&nbsp;The degree of Master of Science in Electrical Engineering may be conferred upon those students who successfully complete the 30 hours of graduate coursework as specified above with a grade-point ratio (GPR) of 3.0 or better on hours earned at The Citadel.
