Bio
Dr. Ryan Integlia joined The Citadel School of Engineering in 2019, after coming from Florida. Prior to arriving at The Citadel, Dr. Integlia was one of the founding faculty members at Florida Polytechnic University, serving in many capacities during its formation. Some related efforts include faculty governance, university operations, chairing/founding committees, leading/founding research labs, serving as the founding computer engineering program coordinator and developing curriculum across multiple colleges.
During his time at Florida Poly, he developed electrical engineering, computer engineering, and advanced technology curricula for undergraduate and graduate concentrations. His teaching involves the development and operation of various courses, such as those related to renewable energy, sustainability, optoelectronics, electronic devices, robotics, engineering design and general circuits.
His primary research interests include subjects related to wearable devices, nanophotonics, optoelectronics, and related electronic devices. His secondary research interests include wearables & robotics, mobile systems applications, mobile health applications, renewable energy systems and educational technology. Additionally, he considers unifying topics, such as community focused entrepreneurship, sustainability, the arts and poverty alleviation to enhance the potential value of his efforts to society.
Dr. Integlia’s industry experience includes work with some of the world’s largest multinational companies. In addition, he has established entrepreneurship programs, economic development programs, co-ops, startups, and supported business accelerators. Lastly, he provides service and outreach to the community on various topics through outreach, professional organizations and multiple nonprofits.
