At program completion, candidates will be eligible for South Carolina licensure as school building administrators.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Knowledge of human and public relations problems in education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New curricular developments and trends<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Skills in practical applications of educational research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Competence in applying principles of human and group behavior in problem situations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge and competencies in staff personnel administration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Different leadership and management styles and a clear understanding and working knowledge of Learner-Centered Education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-requirements-for-admission\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements for Admission<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/graduatecollege\/-apply\">Graduate Application<\/a>&nbsp;and non-refundable application fee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submission of official transcripts reflecting the baccalaureate degree and any graduate coursework delivered directly from the accredited college or university attended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicants are expected to have a 2.5 cumulative undergraduate grade point average or a 2.7 ratio for the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>See\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.citadel.edu\/preview_program.php?catoid=23&amp;poid=1685&amp;returnto=673\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Academic Catalog<span class=\"screen-reader-text\"> (opens in a new tab)<\/span><\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for further requirements and details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submission of a valid South Carolina elementary or secondary teaching certificate. Applicants must be in good standing with the State Board of Education at the time of admission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submission of a South Carolina Professional Certificate verifying at least one year of teaching at the appropriate level for Advanced Level certification for which the candidate is applying must be validated at the time of admission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-program-requirements\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total of 39 semester hours must be completed for the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership. In addition to completing all courses, candidates applying for certification as an administrator must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Present a minimum qualifying score on the Praxis, South Carolina\u2019s Supervision and Administration Examination, prior to enrolling in an internship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Present a Valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete 33 hours of required courses and two internships (6 credit hours total;\u00a0EDUC 661and\u00a0EDUC 664). Candidates are generally asked to take one internship during the school year and one during the summer, In total, the program is 39 credit hours.
