The Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Leadership is designed to prepare students for leadership roles in post-secondary educational settings such as colleges and universities, community and technical institutions, and other educational organizations. The\u00a0online certificate<\/strong>\u00a0provides coursework and professional development applicable to many functional areas in higher education, including advanced higher educational leadership concepts, finance, strategic planning and assessment, strategic enrollment management, and organizational administration and governance. Requirements for Admission to the Certificate Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Completion of the online graduate application along with the non-refundable application fee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Submission of official transcripts reflecting the baccalaureate degree and any graduate coursework delivered directly from the accredited college or university attended.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Program Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Students enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Leadership complete four eight-week courses (EDUC 530, EDUC 533, EDUC 534, EDUC 539, and EDUC 564) focusing on the areas of higher education organization and governance, finance, advanced leadership, strategic planning, and assessment. These four courses are also required of the M.Ed. in Higher Education Leadership degree program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Select 4 courses (12 credit hours) from the following list<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    EDUC 530: Strategic Planning and Assessment in Higher Education –<\/strong> An examination of the fundamentals of assessment of learning outcomes and institutional effectiveness. Assessment is presented as an instrument to inform strategic planning and decision making in higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    EDUC 533: Higher Education Finance –<\/strong> An analysis of private, state, federal, and other revenue sources in higher education. Students will engage in the application of strategic planning processes, budgeting systems, and financial processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    EDUC 534: Advanced Leadership in Higher Education –<\/strong> An overview of best practices in higher education leadership, including a survey of leadership models, application of leadership models in staff development, policy, and financial practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    EDUC 539 Higher Education Administration –<\/strong> This course provides an overview of the process of organizing the personnel and financial resources needed to effectively meet student development and institutional goals and objectives. This course will introduce students to basic human and fiscal management concepts and skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    EDUC 564: Strategic Enrollment Management<\/strong> – An overview of strategic enrollment management planning and practices in colleges and universities. In this course students will examine admission policies and practices, institutional positioning in student recruitment, fundamental principles of higher education marketing, as well as student success and retention strategies. Students will examine institutional budgeting, forecasting, data analytics, and influences on higher education pricing and packaging of financial aid. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
