Welcome to the <\/strong>Cadet Host Family Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We appreciate your interest in taking part in the Cadet Host Family Program.  Our program is intended to improve cadets\u2019 quality of life by providing our international and out-of-state cadets a means to connect with vetted, local, volunteer families that will provide them with a place to go to during times of general leave maybe furlough.  Host families provide a \u201chome away from home\u201d for cadets in need.  Most of the cadets requesting sponsors will be first year cadets (freshmen) but international students from all classes may also request sponsors.  Those cadets who live the greatest distance from The Citadel are given priority.  Cadets with unique challenges may be considered to take part in the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a host family you are \u201cadopting\u201d cadets and coaching them through their Citadel career.  This is an opportunity to give back to a young person far from home, introduce them to Charleston and teach them about life. Please read each link below.  Your application will be evaluated for the current academic year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
