{"id":9,"date":"2020-09-22T10:56:56","date_gmt":"2020-09-22T14:56:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/civil-environmental\/?page_id=9"},"modified":"2024-10-07T12:38:24","modified_gmt":"2024-10-07T16:38:24","slug":"ms-civil-engineering","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/civil-environmental\/graduate-programs\/ms-civil-engineering\/","title":{"rendered":"Civil Engineering, M.S."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The mission of The Citadel\u2019s Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE) program is to provide a student-centered learning environment focused on advanced applied engineering techniques and professional skills development for principled leaders in the engineering community through a rigorous curriculum, emphasizing practical engineering concepts, strong professional values, and a disciplined work ethic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-msce-at-the-citadel\">MSCE at The Citadel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fully online and complies with Quality Matters rubrics regarding course design for distance learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fully asynchronous program with weekly assignments allows flexible schedules and respects work and family commitments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Faculty that prioritize students and their overall well-being<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Online tuition rate that makes in-state and out-of-state costs the same for all students<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Courses are designed-centered and code-based. Students who complete the MSCE program get 1 year credit towards their PE license and courses intentionally prepare students for the PE and SE exams<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unique program allows for electives outside of engineering design for those interested in parts of engineering practice such as business development, project management, leadership, or engineering education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"250\" height=\"312\" src=\"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/civil-environmental\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11\/Timothy-Mays-3.jpg\" alt=\"Timothy W.
