{"id":625,"date":"2024-05-22T09:04:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-22T13:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/civil-environmental\/?page_id=625"},"modified":"2024-06-03T15:19:43","modified_gmt":"2024-06-03T19:19:43","slug":"construction-management-minor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.citadel.edu\/civil-environmental\/cadet-programs\/construction-management-minor\/","title":{"rendered":"Minor in Construction Management"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objective<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The minor in Construction Management is designed to provide students with practical knowledge, quantitative\/scientific aptitudes and basic levels of competency in construction engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Competencies, Knowledge and Skills to be Achieved<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students obtain foundational perspectives of construction engineering and gain a working knowledge of construction scheduling, estimating, safety, contracts and project management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Curriculum <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Required Courses (2 courses, 6 credit hours)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>CONE 311 Resource Estimating, <em>3 credit hours<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CONE 415 Project Management and Engineering Administration, <em>3 credit hours<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Elective Courses (choose any 3)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>CONE 302 Engineering\/Construction Law, Ethics, Safety and Contracts, <em>4 credit hours<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CONE 312 Advanced Estimating, <em>3 credit hours<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CONE 330 Quality Management and Labor Relations, <em>3 credit hours<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CONE 350 Commerical Construction and Engineering Equipment, <em>3 credit hours<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CONE 410 Project Scheduling, <em>3 credit hours<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CONE 450 Facilities Operations and Maintenance (BIM), <em>3 credit hours<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CIVL 331 Probability and Statistics for Civil and Construction Engineering, <em>3 credit hours<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General Minor Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Student must take 15+ credit hours to earn a minor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Only 3 of these credit hours may overlap with your major&#8217;s course requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Courses beyond those listed in the &#8220;Additional Course Options&#8221; may be accepted toward minor course requirements.
