Reflect & Transform: Elevating Learning through Dynamic Reflection
Led by Dr. Joe Tranquillo- Associate Provost for Transformative Teaching and Learning at Bucknell
In-person training session held in Capers 2111. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like a calendar invite.
In a world where we are most often rewarded for what we do, reflection often takes a back seat. Yet reflection is when experiences are processed and abstracted so that learning can be translated to new situations. In many of our classrooms, however, reflection is only encountered in one very specific time and mode – as an individual in written form at the end of a course or module, at best. As such, in the minds of students and faculty, reflection becomes a boring task that is often paradoxically rushed and not taken seriously. This workshop will focus on reflection for students, where you will learn some short exercises you can embed within your classes, as well as reflection for faculty, along all dimensions of being a professor.
