Tenure-Track Assistant Professor or Instructor in Cyber Operations<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences at The Citadel, located in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, invites applications for a full-time, 9-month faculty position at the rank of Tenure-Track Assistant Professor or Instructor, with a start date of August 2026, January 2027, or August 2027. The Department of Cyber and Computer Sciences<\/a> includes 7 full-time and 7 adjunct faculty members. It offers:

\u2022 Critical Infrastructure Hands-on Access Control and IoT Security (CHARIoTS) Lab
\u2022 Machine Intelligence and Data Analysis Systems (MIDAS) Lab
\u2022 Research on Aerial Defense in Unmanned Systems (RADIUS) Lab<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2016, The Citadel has been designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense by the National Security Agency (NSA). The B.S. in Computer Science program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, under the commission\u2019s General Criteria and Program Criteria for Computer Science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Position Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Responsibilities include:
\u2022 Teaching undergraduate courses in cyber operations and computer science
\u2022 Teaching graduate courses in computer and information sciences or cybersecurity (Assistant Professor)
\u2022 Typical teaching load: 12 contact hours\/week (Assistant Professor), 15 hours\/week (Instructor)
\u2022 Student advising, scholarly activity, and service to the institution
The Citadel supports faculty development with internal funding for research, travel, and professional growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For Tenure-Track Assistant Professor<\/strong>
\u2022 Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Cyber Operations, or closely related field (Required)
\u2022 Strong aptitude for teaching in Cyber Operations (Required)
\u2022 Engage students in scholarly research (Required)
\u2022 Ability to teach core computer science courses (Preferred)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Instructor<\/strong>
\u2022 Master\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Operations, or closely related field (Required)
\u2022 Strong aptitude for teaching in Cyber Operations (Required)
\u2022 Ability to teach core computer science courses (Preferred)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
