The Citadel Regimental Band and Pipes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Citadel Regimental Band and Pipes receives hundreds of requests to perform annually. The combined band plays at events across South Carolina, performs annually in numerous New Orleans Mardi Gras parades and has performed for several United States Presidents. Approximately 100 members of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets comprise the combined band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Signature Tartan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At its inception the Pipe Band wore the red Royal Stewart tartan. In 1981, the band began wearing The Citadel’s own tartan, which has been duly registered in Edinburgh, Scotland. The color of the tartan incorporates the college\u2019s colors of blue and white. The Gold woven into the signature fabric is reminiscent of the brass on the South Carolina Corps of Cadets uniforms. Red represents a cadet officer’s sash. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
