Lieutenant Colonel Travis Taylor first entered the Army in 2001 as an enlisted Infantryman in the Army Reserves. He was a SMP Cadet at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina and graduated in 2004.  He was commissioned as a 2nd<\/sup> Lieutenant in the Signal Corps.  He is a Special Forces Officer.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

LTC Taylor’s early assignments include being a platoon leader and company XO in Alpha Co, 112’h Signal BN (Special Operations) (Airborne). He commanded a Special Forces Operational Detachment-Alpha (ODA) and two Special Forces Companies, Charlie Company, 1st<\/sup> BN, 3rd<\/sup> Special Forces Group (Airborne), and Bravo Company, 6th<\/sup> BN, 1st<\/sup> Special Warfare Training Group (Airborne) in the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.  His staff assignments include being a battalion operations officer (S3) in 3rd<\/sup> Special Forces Group (Airborne) and operations officer (J3) for the Special Operations Command Forward, North and West Africa.    He most recently served as the Chief of the Special Operations Branch, Special Management Division, Army Human Resources Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

LTC Taylor’s combat tours include OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan in 2011, 2012, 2013, and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM in Iraq in 2005, 2006. He has deployed to Central Asia and Central Africa in support of other contingency operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LTC Taylor has attended the Signal Officer’s Basic Course, Armor Officer’s Advanced Course, Airborne School, Pathfinder School, Jumpmaster School, SERE School, Special Forces Qualifications Course and the Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Course. He is a 2015 graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School and earned a MS in Defense Analysis and Irregular Warfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LTC Taylor resides in Summerville, SC with his wife, Samantha, and his children Josie, Easton, Ryland, and Berkleigh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
