Integrated directly into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, Copilot helps you write, analyze, organize and create more efficiently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When logged in with your Citadel credentials, Copilot provides enhanced data privacy protections not available in public versions. It is the recommended and approved platform for academic and administrative AI use at The Citadel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-faculty-staff-and-students-can-use-microsoft-copilot\">How Faculty, Staff and Students Can Use Microsoft Copilot<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Copilot is built into the Microsoft 365 tools you already use, helping you save time and boost productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Faculty<\/strong> can streamline lesson planning, generate quizzes and rubrics, summarize readings and research and draft syllabi, feedback and professional communications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Staff and administrators<\/strong> can automate reports, analyze data, manage calendars and email responses and build polished presentations, memos and marketing copy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Students<\/strong> can get study support, summarize readings and lectures, brainstorm and organize writing projects and get guidance on formulas, data or basic code tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether you&#8217;re teaching, learning or supporting campus operations, Copilot helps you work smarter, faster and more creatively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ethical-use-guidelines-at-the-citadel\">Ethical Use Guidelines at The Citadel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before using any Generative AI tool, it\u2019s important to follow The Citadel\u2019s standards for ethical and responsible AI use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Use Approved Tools<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Using non-Citadel-approved tools may involve privacy risks, such as the tool using data shared with it for future model training. Therefore, if you choose to use a non-Citadel-supported tool, you assume the associated risks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Protect Intellectual Property<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do not upload any data to a Generative AI system that may be considered another&#8217;s intellectual property, unless you have explicit permission or rights to do so, or if the content you are sharing with the AI system is your own intellectual property.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Keep a Record of AI Interactions for Classes<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Given that the ethical guidelines for acceptable GenAI use vary across different contexts, including individual classes, we recommend keeping a record of your interactions with any AI tool.
