He graduated from The Citadel in 1983. As the college\u2019s senior vice president, Crawford is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the college and is the president\u2019s senior staff representative to the college\u2019s governing board. In addition, he coordinates the efforts of the vice presidents and senior staff in the planning and execution of the college\u2019s operational efforts and strategic goals. He is also responsible for overseeing legislative efforts as well as alumni affairs, and he chairs the college\u2019s crisis action staff committee. Prior to assuming his current duties, Crawford served as the director of legislative affairs and community engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crawford served in the U.S. Army as a field artillery officer and held various command and staff positions throughout his career. His operational assignments included the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Armored Division, the 24<sup>th<\/sup> Infantry Division, the 101<sup>st<\/sup> Airborne Air Assault Division and the 212<sup>th<\/sup> Field Artillery Brigade. His non-operational roles included assignments on the Presidential Inaugural Committee and the United States Military Academy and as well as the National Defense University where he served as executive assistant to the president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crawford deployed to both Desert Shield\/Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom where he served as the combined and joint director of operations for the Afghanistan theater of operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crawford is a graduate of the Army\u2019s Command and General Staff College and holds a master\u2019s degree in administration from Central Michigan University and a master\u2019s degree in strategic studies from the National War College.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cardon Crawford, Colonel USA (Ret)Senior Vice President for Operations and Administration Colonel Cardon Crawford is the senior vice president for operations and administration.
