Prior to arriving at The Citadel, he taught finance and accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels for several years at multiple universities in the Midwest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Chitavi specializes in Asset Pricing and Contemporary Theories of Finance.&nbsp; His areas of research interest include commodity derivatives, microstructure including the Fintech (Financial Technology) sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Chitavi previously worked in Management Consulting at KPMG in Canada, South Africa and Kenya. He also worked in the Private Equity and Venture Capital sector at the boutique firm Chicago Ventures (Formerly I2A Venture Capital Firm) and Hughes-Co company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Chitavi is actively involved in community service and serves on advisory boards across various sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-degrees\">Degrees<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>DBA &#8211; University of Wisconsin &#8211; Whitewater<br>MBA &#8211; Kellogg School of Management<br>BS &#8211; Kenyatta University<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bio Dr. Michael Chitavi joined the Citadel faculty in August 2020.
