Dr. Iordanis Karagiannidis is the Associate Dean for Curriculum, Finance and Outreach for the Tommy & Victoria Baker School of Business at The Citadel as well as an Associate Professor of Finance. He also serves as the Director of the Rick and Mary Lee Bastin Financial Leadership Lab and the Director of the Financial Services Pathway. He teaches financial modeling, investments, valuation and corporate finance at the undergraduate and MBA levels. Prior to his appointment at The Citadel in 2011, he was a Professor of Practice in the department of finance at the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University where he also served as the Director of the Financial Analysis Laboratory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Karagiannidis received his Ph.D. in Finance and Economics (minor) from Michigan State University in 2007. He earned an MBA in finance and international business from Rutgers University and a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration from the University of Macedonia in Greece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has received the \u201cExcellence in Teaching\u201d award at The Citadel (2015) and twice at Michigan State University (2006 & 2009). In December of 2015, he also received the faculty spotlight award for excellence in teaching, research and service from The Citadel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His research interests include mutual fund performance and organization, financial networks, investments and portfolio management. Additionally, his work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Empirical Finance<\/em>, the Review of Financial Economics<\/em> and the Journal of International Financial Market, Institutions and Money<\/em> among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\nDegrees<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
