Uptown Oyster Roast Celebrates Campaign's Success

With over 600 guests in attendance, this event recognized the tremendous support and dedication of our major campaign donors, key volunteers, and leaders of the college and the Corps. Campaign for The Citadel Raises Over $107 Million!
(14 MAR) (View Article) The Citadel Foundation has successfully concluded its six-year, $100 million Campaign for The Citadel, exceeding the ambitious goal with a final tally of $107,336,415.

A celebration of the campaign's success will be held for key donors, campaign volunteers, and invited guests at Johnson Hagood Stadium this Saturday, March 15. The date for the event was chosen to honor The Citadel's annual Corps Day celebration, marking the 165th birthday of the South Carolina Corps of Cadets

A Message from the Newest Member of the Long Gray Line
(11 DEC '07) (View Article) At The Citadel's Commencement ceremony in May, Joe Zoretic was the last cadet to cross the stage, receive his diploma, and join the Class of 2007. In keeping with Citadel tradition, he addressed his graduating classmates, issuing them a challenge to embrace their new alumni status and always stay connected with their alma mater.

Jessie Ball duPont Fund Awards $80,800 Grant to African-American Studies Program at The Citadel
(13 JAN '05) (View Article) The Citadel is the proud recipient of an $80,800 grant from the Jessie Ball duPont Religious, Charitable and Educational Fund. The three-year grant will be used to implement community outreach initiatives as part of the Department of History's new African American Studies program. Pictured above beside the cadets is Dr. Marcus Cox, Assistant Professor of History and founding director of the new program.

McCormick Tribune Foundation Awards $400,000 for The Citadel Beach House
(13 JAN '05) (View Article) The McCormick Tribune Foundation, one of the nation's largest charitable foundations, has awarded The Citadel $400,000 to renovate and maintain the historic Citadel McCormick Beach House on the Isle of Palms. The college will also receive $40,000 annually from the foundation to reestablish McCormick Scholarships, which will enable two students from Illinois to attend The Citadel each year.

Wachovia Supports The Citadel School of Education with $250,000 Gift
(20 OCT '04) (View Article) The Wachovia Foundation has approved a $250,000 grant to support the "Wachovia Reading Program," enabling Citadel graduate students to provide free remedial reading assistance to elementary school youth in the Charleston community.

10th Armored Division Scholarship Fund Established to Support Army ROTC Cadets
(05 MAR '07) (View Article) The 10th Armored Division Veterans' Association recently established a scholarship to support cadets enrolled in The Citadel's Army ROTC program. The scholarship, held at The Citadel Trust, was funded through an outright cash gift of $25,000, provided by the organization's treasurer, Mr. W. C. Schulze of Greenwood, South Carolina.

McCabe III, Citadel Class of 1971, has announced his intention to endow, through a significant estate gift, a series of academic and athletic scholarships to benefit future cadets, offered in memory of the donor’s parents, Joseph M. McCabe, Jr., Citadel Class of 1943, and Anne P. McCabe.


Daniel Library Receives Major Grants

Warlick gift endows four scholarships
(22 JUL '03) (View Article) Andy Warlick, a 1979 graduate who was former chairman of The Citadel Foundation board, will donate $1 million to The Citadel Foundation over the next five years. The funds will be used to endow four scholarships annually to attract the most qualified students who will be named The Anderson D. Warlick Citadel Foundation Scholars.


Brashier Family gift of land will support Citadel Leadership Scholars
(22 JUL '03) (View Article) T. Walter Brashier, a past parent and long time friend of The Citadel, has donated a parcel of land in Columbia, South Carolina to The Citadel to establish the T. Walter Brashier Family Scholarships Fund. The land, valued at nearly $2.5 million, will be used by The Citadel to attract students who exemplify the qualities of leadership and achievement that best characterize The South Carolina Corps of Cadets.


Moore donates $1 million
