"McManus Family Leadership Graduate Assistantship" Established
In November of 2003, Rita and Stephen McManus ‘64 announced their intention to endow a gift of $150,000 to fund the McManus Family Leadership Graduate Assistantship. Coordinated with the Krause Initiative in Leadership, this gift will establish the resources necessary to secure and fund a graduate assistant who will help implement The Citadel’s campus-wide leadership development programs. This new graduate position will organize and assist the efforts of LTC Jeffrey Weart, Director of the Krause Initiative in Leadership, to integrate leadership development models and ethical principles into all aspects of cadet life. The Citadel Foundation is pleased to thank the McManus Family for their contributions to support and enhance the Krause Initiative.
“Given what has happened in corporate America over the past few years, the timing is perfect to take advantage of the heritage of The Citadel and begin the process of educating our cadets in becoming strong, effective leaders.” -- Steve McManus, on what inspired him to establsh the McManus Family Leadership Graduate Assistantship
